How to Stay Connected Without Being a Creep

This week’s Actor Business Bite is inspired by a question I received from an actress named Mary. Mary was lucky enough to work on an HBO project with an award winning director. Since they worked together, he’s become quite successful.

So, Mary reached out to him to offer congratulations and express how grateful she was to be able to work with him.

Guess what… he wrote her back.
A hand-written letter, none the less.

Now, Mary’s not sure how to follow up with him again without over doing it.

Watch this week’s video to find out exactly what Mary can do next to stay connected with this director without being creepy.

  1. I try to send a thank-you note to the casting director after I’ve read with him/her. Not a postcard with my headshot on it, but an actual card in an envelope with a handwritten message. It’s just another way to let them know I appreciate them considering me.

  3. I worked with a pretty big television director last week while I was shooting a small co-star on a network TV show. I sent him a “thank you” tweet completely not expecting him to respond. Well, he not only responded, but he retweeted my tweet to all his twitter followers coupled with very kind words about my performance. I was surprised and honored!
